The founding of the company in 1902 was as a consequence of an innovative idea: foodstuffs packaging using expensive tin foil was to be replaced by high quality metal paper. Innovative inventions then made it possible.
Wickels has focussed for more than 100 years on innovative paper coating creations (e.g. fabric paperboard) and continues to manufacture high quality products in Germany: coated paper, paperboard and foils. In the metal colour sector, no other European company can offer as diverse a range. With the ability to perform full surface embossing, Wickels offers something very special – customers can also choose from more than 50 embossment patterns or have their own embossing roller manufactured.
